Herrington Carmichael’s corporate team led by Head of Corporate, Yavan Brar, has advised DataOps.live, a unique data operations platform built around Snowflake, on its $10.3m USD Series Seed funding round led by the west-coast US venture capital investor, Anthos Capital alongside co-investor, Snowflake Ventures.
Anthos Capital is an investment firm focused on growth-stage private companies at the forefront of change and Snowflake Ventures is the investment arm of Snowflake Inc.
DataOps.live is a pioneer in the emerging DataOps space, designed to address common problems around operationalising cloud data platforms which impact most clients: slow development times, backlogged teams, no automated data quality regression testing, and poor version control of pipelines that span multiple tools. The platform was built around the Snowflake Data Cloud, the emerging leader in cloud data platforms that went public on the NYSE in 2020. This close relationship with Snowflake, a US tech company with a market cap, at the time of writing, of c. $100bn USD, resulted in DataOps.live becoming an approved product on the Snowflake Partner Connect Marketplace.
The funding round and data room was prepared over a few months and then executed and completed within 8 weeks start to finish. The completion of the Series Seed funding round now paves the way for further investment in the London-based tech business, in order that it can scale its pan-European and North American growth programmes.
The Herrington Carmichael team was led by Managing Partner and Head of Corporate, Yavan Brar and also comprised Matthew Lea, Legal Director, Chris Gemson, Solicitor and Michelle Lamberth, Senior Paralegal.
“We had been working with HC as our corporate lawyers for many years, pre-dating the inception of DataOps.live. Yavan and his team were excellent and tireless in their efforts to execute the funding round in a particularly short timescale, especially given the international time zones in consideration. The team were always available, always prepared, and always thinking of mutually acceptable ways to move past any challenges when they arose. We look forward to working with Herrington Carmichael over the coming years as we look to scale Dataops.live with the strategic input of Anthos Capital and Snowflake Ventures”.
