HR Training & Development

All of our Employment lawyers regularly provide training and speak at conferences and events. We adjust our training content to target different levels of knowledge so we get it right depending on who we are talking to.

Our employment solicitors boast vast experience in delivering comprehensive training programmes tailored for senior leaders, managers, and employees across diverse industries, including leisure and hospitality, construction, and financial services. Our training sessions cover a broad spectrum of essential topics including harassment, sexual harassment, equal opportunities, discrimination, performance and capability management, long-term sickness absence management, disciplinaries, and redundancy procedures. The training can be provided as a lecture or as interactive workshops, with case studies based on past and current legal cases. Either way our tailored training sessions will provide practical insights and actionable strategies to ensure that employers create a respectful workplace and ensure compliance with legal standards. It should also ensure that your managers are able to initially address any issues that might arise.

All of our lawyers regularly provide training and speak at conferences and events. The training we run is interactive and engaging, bringing issues to life and using our "casebook" of examples.

We can adjust our training content to target different levels of knowledge so we get it right depending on who we are talking to.

Training is something we are really passionate about and really enjoy doing. This comes through in the manner in which we deliver training sessions and how we encourage engagement from delegates to improve what people get out of it.

The types of training we can provide includes:

  • Harassment including sexual harassment
  • Equal opportunities & discrimination
  • Performance management
  • Effective absence management
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Redundancy exercises

The cost for providing the training will depend on the length of the training, number of people attending and whether it will be online or in person.

If you are a registered sponsor, immigration compliance is compulsory. There are onerous duties in relation to reporting of migrants' whereabouts and any change of circumstances.

We can offer training, guidance and support throughout the duration of the licence to ensure compliance with all sponsor duties.

Right to work compliance
Employing illegal workers can result in imprisonment of up to five years and an unlimited fine if you do not conduct sufficient Right to Work checks.

The Home Office expects employers to verify and retain documents in an organised system to ensure continuing compliance. Your obligations do not end once the individual starts employment. If you fail to carry out the compliance checks properly, you can be fined up to £20,000 per illegal worker.

We can assist by providing relevant training and advice to ensure checks are completed correctly in line with the Home Office guidance.

Immigration Training
Our team will ensure that you maintain ongoing compliance with your sponsor duties and employing migrants generally. If we identify any issues in regard to non-compliance, our team will work with you to improve your processes, recommend new procedures or best practices to ensure compliance. We will provide in-house training to your staff. We can also take on the key roles in your licence to ensure compliance.

Our wider legal teams provide training on a range of specialist services.

A single legal training session can help your staff to identify and deal with risk and issues and know when to seek further guidance. Our training session include:

  • Regulated Training Sessions
  • Terms in Commercial Agreements
  • Key Commercial Clauses training
  • Media & Entertainment
  • Legal Knowledge Training

Compliance Training Programme
For longer-term training, our team develops multi-session compliance training programmes for businesses needing an ongoing training programme on navigating and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and updates. We work collaboratively to identify recurring compliance risk areas and design sessions to address those vulnerabilities. Our programmes provide implementable advice reinforced through follow-up evaluations to confirm personnel comprehend policies and procedures needed to achieve regulatory compliance.

We offer training onsite or we would be pleased to host you at our offices. Alternatively, we can provide training remotely using video conferencing facilities, enabling live Q&A sessions.
