Equality, Discrimination and Harassment

If you feel you are being badly treated at work, our expert team of Employment Lawyers are here to help you understand your rights and advise you on the best action you can take to try to remedy the situation.

Experiencing bullying, harassment or discrimination at work can be a lonely, isolating and upsetting experience.

Discrimination can occur on a number of grounds including sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, race, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy or maternity. Discrimination laws apply to job applicants, employees, contractors, workers and in relation to equal pay.

We can support you through the steps required to resolve the situation amicably through a grievance process and can advise you on your options and potential claims if this is not possible. For some employees, we give them the ability and confidence to resolve the issues themselves through advice and assistance with correspondence.

We also provide support to employees affected by discrimination and harassment by liaising directly with their employers to help resolve the situation. Our highly experienced employment lawyers can advise you on instigating Employment Tribunal claims against employers and will litigate your case so that you are compensated for any discrimination you may have been subjected to.

Discrimination law is complex and ever-changing and Herrington Carmichael’s Employment team can help to steer you through it.
