Rian Simmonds

Rian is currently a trainee solicitor within the Residential Property team.

Originally from Canada, Rian obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of Toronto before moving to England in 2018 to begin his legal studies. Rian achieved a first class LLB Degree from the University of Leicester in 2020, he then completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction and gained a MSc in Law and Business in 2021.

Rian joined the firm following the completion of the LPC and initially worked as a Conveyancing Assistant within the Residential Property team before beginning his training contract in September 2021. His training seats to date have been within the Private Wealth and Inheritance, and Residential Property teams.

During his time in the Private Wealth and Inheritance team, Rian assisted with the administration of Estates and Trusts. He developed knowledge on Inheritance Tax, Will Drafting and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Currently, within the Residential Property team, Rian has assisted with both Sale and Purchase transactions including new-build, leasehold and multi-use agricultural properties.

Outside the office, Rian’s hobbies include playing tennis, golf and enjoying being out in nature. He also remains an avid NHL ice hockey fan, supporting the Toronto Maple Leafs.
