Penny is a Paralegal within our Family department.
Penny joined us in March 2021 from a law firm in Central Reading where she gained considerable experience dealing with children matters, domestic violence, divorce and finances. While studying for her Master’s degree, Penny volunteered with the National Centre for Domestic Violence and would attend court with litigants in person, acting as a McKenzie Friend.
Penny understands the importance of approaching situations sensitively and pragmatically as to minimise further trauma and acrimony. This is crucial when dealing with family breakdown as it is important to consider the impact on the parties, wider family and any children involved.
Penny assists the family team in all aspects of private family law and runs her own caseload, working collaboratively with other members of the team. Penny intends on qualifying as a Solicitor and will shortly become a Graduate Legal Executive, which will enable her to qualify via the CILEx route.
Interests and Hobbies
Outside of work, Penny enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She loves travelling and in 2017 spent three months working in Pennsylvania, USA, at a summer camp for underprivileged girls. Penny also loves animals and has recently rehomed a very naughty but lovable kitten called Charlie.
