Emma is a solicitor in the Corporate and Commercial department, advising on a wide range of corporate matters. Emma has experience in advising businesses, management teams and investors on Mergers & Acquisitions, Investments, Corporate Restructuring, Employee Share Schemes and general corporate matters.
Emma specialises in advising clients on the set up of employee share schemes and share options, including EMIs, CSOPs and growth share schemes.
With additional experience in Corporate Restructuring, Emma is able to assist corporate clients with complex reorganisations, including demergers, hive outs, share exchanges and asset sales.
Emma graduated with a First class law degree from the University of Birmingham in 2015 and obtained a Distinction in the LPC and MSc in Law, Business and Management from the University of Law in 2018. She achieved awards for the highest marks in Real Estate and Commercial Dispute Resolution.
Experience
- Supporting on the £25m sale of a data infrastructure business to a private-equity backed buyer in the information technology and services sector
- Assisting on a $70m investment by a US Hedge Fund Affiliate in the banking technology and services sector with cross-border elements from USA, Belgium, Sweden, France and Russia
- Advising on the £11m sale of an IT solutions business, including advising on intellectual property and employee share options as part of the due diligence process
- Acting on a complex group restructuring of a long-standing client in the construction industry
- Assisting on the pre-sale restructuring of a data operations business, subsequent sale and investment round
- Advising on the demerger and reorganisation of a facilities management business by way of a three cornered demerger to provide for two distinct businesses
Interests and Hobbies
Outside of work, Emma enjoys keeping active by going to the gym, cycling and swimming; and sometimes takes part in triathlons. Emma also enjoys travelling, scuba diving and cooking/baking.
