Amanda is a partner and the head of the family team at Herrington Carmichael. She is an experienced family lawyer, having practised family law for over 13 years in Surrey and Berkshire. Amanda is a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Accreditation Scheme and she is also a Resolution Accredited Specialist for complex financial remedy proceedings. Both accreditation schemes recognise practitioners based on their expertise and accomplishment in their area of practice. Amanda is also on the Resolution National Committee for Specialist Accreditation; a committee tasked with setting and maintaining Resolution’s high standards for the accreditation scheme.
As a family lawyer, Amanda is very experienced and has dealt with a wide range of family law matters. She has developed a particular expertise in resolving mid to high value financial disputes on divorces including complex issues such as fraud, overseas assets, business assets and cases where a third party has intervened in the ongoing proceedings between spouses. Amanda also advises on pre/post nuptial agreements, applications to vary maintenance, disputes regarding the arrangements for children and also on disputes between unmarried couples.
Amanda is also an accredited family mediator. She has been an advocate of mediation as a dispute resolution option for separating couples throughout her career. Since qualifying as a family mediator, Amanda has mediated several complex disputes between separating couples concerning their finances and the arrangements for their children. Amanda achieved accredited mediator status in January 2020 and is also able to offer Mediation Information Assessment Meetings for clients.
Amanda is committed to ensuring her clients achieve the best possible outcome and often received positive feedback from her clients for her hard work and support during what is often a difficult time for them. As a member of Resolution, Amanda strives to minimise conflict by adopting a non-confrontational approach to all her matters.
