Areas of responsibility
Amanda is a Partner and Head of Family Law at Herrington Carmichael – an experienced Family Lawyer, as well as a qualified family mediator and a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Accreditation Scheme. Amanda is very experienced and has dealt with a wide range of family law matters, developing particular expertise in resolving mid to high value financial disputes on divorces involving complex issues such as fraud, overseas assets, business assets and interveners. She also advises on prenuptial agreements, applications to vary maintenance, disputes regarding the arrangements for children and cases involving cohabitees. Amanda prides herself on being accessible and available to her clients, and on providing clear and practical advice in plain English.
As a Resolution Accredited Specialist, Amanda is required to demonstrate her thorough knowledge of family law and high levels of skill and expertise in relation to the resolution of complex financial disputes on divorce and separation. Members are admitted on the basis of their expertise and accomplishment in this area of practice.
Experience and recent projects
Amanda undertook her training contract and qualified as a Solicitor at a local Surrey firm. Since then Amanda has chosen to specialise exclusively in family law, working for firms in Surrey and Berkshire throughout her career. Amanda studied Law at the University of Kent before going on to study for her Legal Practice Certificate in London, where she was awarded a commendation.

Interests and Hobbies
Amanda is a keen marathon runner and currently has a goal to run the six world marathon Majors. She combines this with her love of travel and seeing the world one city at a time by running around it!
