HR Lunchtime Forum
Once a month Herrington & Carmichael hosts a lunchtime networking session for managers responsible for HR issues. The event, which is held in our Camberley offices on Watchmoor Park, is very informal and there is no charge to attend.
What’s in it for you?
In return for 1½ hours of your time, you will have the benefit of an open forum discussion on a relevant employment law topic.
As Frankie Tierney, managing partner at Herrington & Carmichael, explains "I chair the forum and we provide the venue, lunch and give a short talk on various topical employment issues, but the meeting is really designed to let people air practical problems and swap ideas as to how to deal with HR matters within their businesses."
Typical topics discussed:
- stress at work - bullying, harassment and malingering
- workers health records - alcohol and drug testing
- mothers returning to work
- grievance procedures and suspension
- more family friendly legislation
- work and families bill
- leave entitlements
- age discrimination
A monthly briefing note is also provided to the members setting out the important points of the legal talk given that month.
If you are dealing with HR issues on your own or within a small team, this is an ideal opportunity to share ideas, problems and solutions with like-minded people.
If you are interested in joining the Forum please contact Becky Drew, the Forum Secretary on 01276 686222. Alternatively use our contact page.
