Yavan Brar
Yavan became Head of Corporate in 2006 and has a broad experience of company commercial matters. He regularly advises on transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs and other corporate restructuring.
Clients include companies at all stages of their development from small start-ups through to international groups looking to acquire.
His knowledge and experience of the financial sector means that he regularly receives instructions from banks and borrowers on debt and finance transactions.
Yavan has considerable commercial expertise in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements on behalf of his clients. These take the form of both one-off contracts and ongoing supply and umbrella contracts.
Yavan’s area of practice extends to intellectual property matters, advising clients on branding, copyright and trademark issues.
His most recent work includes advising a shareholder in relation to the sale of the entire issued share capital in an educational software company in a deal worth £6 million. Advising on the acquisition of two retiring partners’ shares in a trading business, and immediate incorporation of the business into a private limited company in a deal worth £13 million.
