Nick Hothersall
Nick joined the Company and Commercial department in 2009 and has a broad range of experience gained across a variety of industries, including IT and software, retail, consumer electronics, FMCG, telecoms, energy, healthcare and leisure.
He has advised on a multitude of different types of commercial contract including supply and distribution agreements, agency and outsourcing contracts, content and technology licensing agreements and software and IT contracts. His strong corporate expertise includes dealing with company and business sales and acquisitions, MBOs, investment agreements, shareholder and partnership agreements and advising on all aspects of company and business law.
Nick has a Diploma in EU competition law and has advised clients on numerous distribution, agency and franchise agreements and on issues such as abuse of a dominant position, refusals to supply and barriers to entry.
Clients have included Samsung, QVC, Domestic and General, and Barratt Homes.
Nick’s area of practice extends to intellectual property matters, advising clients on branding, copyright and trademark issues. He is also experienced in media law, including advertising, sales promotions and sponsorship and has been involved with high-profile media contracts involving organisations such as McDonalds and Disney.
His most recent work has been advising a leading healthcare company, particularly with regard to negotiating contracts with Primary Care Trusts for the provision of primary care services.
