James Eatwell
James joined the firm in 2003 as a partner following the merger of his former legal practice, Southorns. James specialises in the acquisition and sale of all forms of commercial property including offices, warehouses, retail outlets, hotels, clubs, pubs and restaurants. His work covers the negotiation and granting of commercial leases and the preparation of ancillary documents, such as licences, rent deposit deeds and guarantee agreements, and advising on landlord and tenant issues generally. He also acts on sales and purchases of unincorporated businesses; negotiations on secured lending and provides support for corporate sales and acquisitions by undertaking property due diligence work.
James acts for landlords of a number of business parks on the letting of commercial units to tenants. James has also acted for a number of lending banks in perfecting their security on loans for the acquisition of commercial properties, including large offices in London, warehouses and development sites and has overseen the refinancing of numerous businesses, including private schools.
