Anthony Tahourdin
Anthony is a Partner in the Private Client Department. He joined the firm in 1999 from a London practice where he headed up the Probate Department. He acted as Head of the Private Client Department at Herrington & Carmichael from 1999 until 2011 when he decided to step down to concentrate on his own specialist areas of Probate and the administration of Trusts.
Anthony advises on all areas of Private Client law but his principle interest is in the administration of Trusts and Estates. He has over 30 years experience in dealing with estate administration and he regularly advises on complex estates.
Examples of recent work include:
- Negotiations with HMRC in relation to inheritance tax allowances surrounding documents of national importance.
- Dealing with an estate where a valuable art collection was bequeathed to the Nation and then disposing of the remainder of the estate including the deceased's house which had been built with the art collection in mind.
- Administering an estate where the client had made a number of substantial gifts and created trusts without proper deceased's papers and the completion of out of date tax returns.
He strives to ensure that clients receive a fast and reliable service whilst maximising any Tax reliefs that are available.
Anthony is a member of the Society of Trusts & Estate Practitioners, Solicitors for the Elderly and The Law Society Probate Section.
